Frequently Asked Questions

Below are some frequently asked questions you may find helpful.

1. How much do Healthmark's services cost?

Healthmark offers varying rates depending on what type of license a physician is attempting to secure,
and on how many licenses he or she is attempting to secure. Please see the
"Our Services" page for rates and discount schedule. Remember, we also offer discounts for multiple licenses and for military veterans!

2.  Why should I use Healthmark instead of doing it myself?

You certainly can complete the process yourself, but the medical licensure process today demands a  huge devotion of time and painstaking, constant attention to detail to complete efficiently and properly.  In addition to locating each state medical board's official forms, you will spend weeks (sometimes months) of time and effort on application paperwork (usually a 10-50 pages), credential research, verification securing and tracking, letter writing, processing mail, and weeks of follow-up calls to various agencies. This doesn't include the time you'll have to spend educating yourself on each state's unique licensure process and requirements, and ensuring you have the proper documentation and records to begin. This is a complicated bureaucratic operation that must be completed for each and every state in which you wish to obtain a medical license. If you wish to secure more than one license in more than one state, this process will have to be repeated multiple times, so you can see how the entire process can become burdensome very quickly.  At Healthmark, we will do all of this, and more, for you.  Another advantage of using Healthmark is that your application information is securely stored on your personal account on Healthmark's servers so that if, in the future, you ever wish to obtain another medical license, simply update your online application with any new information, then resubmit the application. No new forms to fill out! Efficiency, speed, and ease of use are where Healthmark excels.

3.  How long will it take to get my medical license if I use Healthmark's medical licensing service?

Under normal circumstances we will have your application(s) completed and shipped to you within three to five business days of your order placement, and your credentials research and verification completed soon thereafter. Once your information is submitted to the medical board(s) of your choice, processing times vary by state.  Most state medical boards can take as little as three weeks and as much as two months to do an initial review. Some "high-traffic" states, like Texas or California, have longer wait times due to more applicants to process. During this time, Healthmark is in regular contact with the medical board and credentialing agencies to ensure that your credential verifications and medical license application(s) are being collected and reviewed by the state medical board as quickly as possible.

4.   What information do I need to submit to Healthmark?

We have designed a simple, short order form that collects much of the initial information we need to get started. The complete CV that you email/fax us provides much of the rest of the information that we need. For those without a complete CV, our easy to complete online application is available. For those that prefer traditional methods, our easy to complete printable paper form is ready for download.  Head over to the "Start Now" page to find out more!

5.   If I choose to retain Healthmark's services, what is my part in the licensure process?

Actually, not much! After we have completed your application paperwork packet and have mailed it to you, usually all you'll have to do is sign and notarize a few things. Some states require you by law to submit photos, sign credential documents, or get fingerprinted as part of a background check. We'll inform you of what is required of you (if anything) later in the process.

6.   What states can I be licensed in using Healthmark?

Healthmark services all fifty states and Washington D.C. for both MD's and  DO's.

7.   Is my information safe?

Absolutely. We at Healthmark understand how imporant your information is. Therefore, any information you submit to us is kept confidential and is never sold or rented to any third party. In terms of information integrity, our website utilizes a Secure Sockets Layer, which is a protocol that provides secured web communication by encrypting information.
